[FORBES article re: analysts]

The December 15 issue of FORBES magazine is the one on the stands now, I think.

MUST-reading cover story in there about analysts hype, especially where the bank is trolling for new business, and how many are sheep anyway, when they're not all but paid flacks.

Also, if you feel like it, a long but excellent recap of the career of Kirk Kerkorian, well-written by David McClintick, author of "Indecent Exposure" from the early 80s.

Tom Doughty

Tom,

Thanks for the SPINOFF URL's I did not have all of them.

Do to time, I have never had time to thank you properly for your compliments to me in the past. You are a true gentleman in person and on the thread. I enjoyed meeting you in Vegas, and regret we could not have spent more time together. Please keep my E-Mail address handy, and let me know if I can ever be of help.

Wishing you and your Family a Happy Holiday Season

Thanks for your kind words
Jim Wilkinson

<hi SteveG: A note FWIW: you don't need to have the last word in every exchange. (Or do you?)>

I post when I see the need and have the time.

<I try never to miss one of your posts because they are (the early ones, anyway) heavy on informational content.>

There is a RANGE of information available from the threads- from consideration of technical details to financial analysis to poking holes through the spin of hyping cheerleaders and ignorant blowhards.

Read or skip as you prefer.

<..But I confess I especially look forward to the exchanges that follow (with Pat or JW or whomever) where your responses become positively Clintonesque.>

"Funk gives you the strength, baby.." (Caught him at the House of Blues at a private bash after Siggraph last summer. Man, he's STILL the original.) eonline.com

<I leave you the last word here.>

Hey, post or skip as you prefer...

(Did you know he completely ad-libbed Atomic Dog?)
