Here's an idea for your neighborhood watch:

youtube.com

You can get drones from these guys with cameras that you fly by remote control, as well as autonomous drones that fly pre-progammed courses with no human input needed. I'm sure you could program one to act like a Roomba, and recharge itself when it needed to.

I know I am hard to deal with. I have always been hard to deal with. The racists and tyrants have especially found me hard to deal with. I look back over my life though and I have usually been right. As clear back as the age of 9 I was at war with the YMCA because they hit kids for no reason except it was custom. They brought in a pastor to tell me why I was wrong to resist paddling. Same thing with the boy scouts.

They were dead wrong.

When I taught school I refused to paddle kids and the school district had to bring in a negotiator. I was not going to hit kids. Period. I was also not going to fight in the Viet Nam war, or go along with my racist relatives. I I have had no contact with 90% of them for 40 years as they are mostly racists. My mom was one of 12 kids. They mostly live in El Reno Oklahoma.

I feel I am a lot like Bill Maher who is my favorite even over Stewart and Colbert because I feel he tells the truth straight out. And I do not always agree with him, but usually I do and most truth is best served raw. IMO.

I am sorry I turn you off, but I turn lots of people off (especially right wingers-lol)and lot's of people turn you off and you have a bit of a temper and do not like it when some people disagree with you. I have seen you many times ban a person with glee. I don't share that position, and I usually try to be careful not to cross you too much as I never am quite sure when I will be next. Maybe now-lol?

Most on this thread are more liberal than you are (IMO), ironically. And you are much less tolerant than I. You will ban someone at the drop of a hat. I would never do that. I understand you better than you think. And we have big differences e.g. you admit to being an elitist. Remember? I loth elitist's. And you don't like a lot of unions and feel many people are just lazy and so are not as worried about the general populace as I am.

But our agreements far outweigh our differences, IMO. Liberals always disagree, that disagreement is what makes us strong. You see the danger of the plutocrats clearly and that is our largest danger. You are also a good liberal.

I have two of the sweetest daughters who have perfect social skills. Everyone loves them and I talked this subject and lots of subjects over with them. They tell me: "dad someone has to say what you say". They know what I am about and approve of me, even if you don't.

As far a social programs go, I spent half my life developing some pretty large social programs from scratch and they all worked pretty well. As my bio says: I wrote the first state plans for both the Office of alcoholism and Drug abuse and emergency Medical Services. I wrote both plans pretty much by myself. Almost all the ideas in them are my ideas. I was also the First state director of Emergency Medical Services and implemented it from scratch where one did not exist at all. As well I was the third State Director of Alcoholism and Drug abuse and redirected that program along the lines of my state plan.

I developed a response for the Dept of Health and Social Services and governors office from scratch to the Valdez oil spill and followed through on that for two years. And I have an MPA from the university of Washington, so social planning is what most of my life has been about; and it is clear to me we have really blown it in social planning across this country as the plutocrats continue to privatize and gain power over us.

Although both of my daughters have great relations with their neighbors and they look out for each , neither would join an association. But I could see instances where that might be necessary. I also don't like the idea of gated communities, but that may be necessary as well.

I instinctively do not like spying, tattle telling or hierarchical societies. I like an egalitarian society where everyone has roles and mutual respect. If I do engage in any organized neighborhood watch it wil be with what I consider necessary regret. Like going to war.
