The worst thing Zimmerman had was a bloody nose, (maybe broken) but it had miraculously healed in 12 hours....ie no swelling , the scratches on the back of his head were superficial and did not even require a bandage although the ER's put one on....
The following is from Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law:

  • (3) A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

Martin attacked Zimmerman, knocked him to the ground, and then proceeded to violently attack Zimmerman. Regardless of the extent to Zimmerman's injuries, just the mere fact that the attack was ongoing, justifies Zimmerman defending himself by shooting Martin.

Anyone in their right mind would have defended themselves against the fury of Martin's criminal attack. Zimmerman should never have been charged with a crime!
