Who was standing their ground? Zimmerman stalking and trailing Martin despite orders to desist or Martin who turned and confronted Zimmerman asking "why are you following me?" What was his reason for stalking Martin, and with a gun? Why was a guy getting psychological treatment carrying a gun??? Zimmerman got into a fight with a teenager and got punched in the nose and knocked on his ass ... Wasn't as tough as he thought he was......therefore needed his gun and shot the kid in the heart, not in the leg or somewhere not lethal....... If he beats this rap, I'll bet you he never wants to play cop again.....

I was hearing Geraldo talk about this a little while ago, and according to him, the FLA law doesn't even concern itself with who "started" the fight -- that if you start the fight but then come to fear for your own life you have the right to kill the other person if necessary to protect your own life.

I don't know if he knows what he is talking about but the attorney for Trayvon's family didn't take issue with it.

  • (3) A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.
Was Martin engaged in an unlawful activity? Did he have a right to be where he was? Did Zimmerman get out of his truck to follow, ie stalk, him against orders from the 911 police operator? Did Martin have the right to turn and confront his stalker?
