I don't disagree with what you say and not saying Tizen will be successful. I am just looking at it from the Samsung perspective of wanting to do everything, copy anybody, be more like Apple, etc. If they were completely happy with Android why would they even develop their own OS?

If Google were to abandon Android for Chrome (as rumored), then Samsung would be left with a dead end OS, and we know how that story ends. And to risk their leading device business model on a browser based OS??? Koreans are pragmatic.

I think that's the problem with a "free" OS. Google probably has a net loss on Android, but they've got browser ad profits down pat. Synergy with what they do best. They don't have a lot to lose by going to Chrome, certainly not the $Billions Samsung has on the line.

Will Google make the switch? It sure would throw the whole business into a tizzy of scrambling for users.
