I wish them the best, but here are my current thoughts, not very hopeful:

Message 28987348

The Egyptians have no experience with free elections and democracy. They freely elected Morsi. Here, we know if you get a leader you don't like or agree with, you work to depose him, and know no matter what happens, you'll only be stuck with him for eight years at most. Americans have made this bargain.

The Egyptians have no experience of this, and have made the mistake (IMHO) of begging the military to remove him, which they have done. It will work as long as an enlightened military works for the people, but they may end up with a military puppet/dictator yet again.

It would have been MUCH better if Morsi had been removed by some political process, recall, impeachment, a vote of no confidence, etc. I don't know what the Egyptian constitution allows.

I can see the point. The Egyptians kicked out a duly elected president and installed the military again.
Temporarily? We'll see.

OTOH, it appears they will keep trying until they get it right or explode.

Admin should back off and observe. It's a no win situation.
