All young Catholics i first met had a tremendous knowledge of the saints & those many deep solemn ritual liturgies committed to memory. Am not sure what cartoon religion you grew up indoctrinated in, obviously one that didn't require much use of gifts of the mind we'll assume? One that demanded little use of memory or brains?

Like any other human mythology with a pantheon of gods & goddesses , no different than a canon of saints, would attract any curious young mind which was what i said in my post. Being drawn to the namesake saint of that city was a thing to be curious about, like the myth of the Fountain of Youth which sums up Christianity pretty well . But when in that post was mentioned reading Augustine's City of God?

We were an open family as far as religion went, i did attend some Catholic services & had Catholic friends as well as Jewish too in Florida, & their ceremonies attracted curioisty too. And you?
