Omaha, you're correct. I do believe in the weak form of the efficient market hypothesis. It is possible, however, to make money day-trading stocks using the random walk in a Monte Carlo method. I think "technical indicators" are useless however. Using a level 2 screen allows traders to see orders piling up and therefore provides a heads up as to the movement of the market for that stock.
