Let me start by saying that the issues I brought up are not the most crucial, and should be considered as observation of the everyday details of Cymer's business in Japan. I think there are things that can be learned from looking at these things, so I posted them here. They are not as important as overall capacity, product superiority, etc.

No I am very serious, although these people are half-machine (scientist), they are also half human, and they are influenced by these factors. Once again, appealing a strong precense and reliability are also key factors.

If you went to Semicon hoping to get info about the Cymer laser, wouldn't you be happier if a salesman sat down with you to have a cup of tea/coffee and discuss the laser with you rather than finding that Cymer's understaffed booth not only had no place to talk, but their understaffed booth had no one available to talk to you?

You may say that that is silly, but it is the way things are done in Japan. You may that that the Japanese and their ways of doing things are silly, and that would be an explanation of why they tend to buy products from Japanese vendors. Japanese vendors appreciate what the Japanese customer wants, and make efforts to do things in line with their expectations.

Whatever. There are companies that do not go to Semicon at all and do well. No need to argue, as this is just my opinion. But I do like the girls in miniskirts!!

Whether it's Japan or the U.S., I'm sure you can understand that CYMI would want to distinguish itself from Komatsu and LP as a company that has major revenues.
