<<I appreciate any insights or pointers...>>

Call MRVC Investor relations and request an Investor's kit. Lots of
good starter information.

Here is the information you need:

nbase.com

I don't know about MRVC's philosophy on ATM - but in my opinion there are already plenty of ATM manufacturers out there with a lot of expertise and resources. MRVC might dilute their current resources and fast/GE focus if they tried to come up with their own ATM switch.

Cengiz, to answer your question re whether MRVC has an ATM product I pulled this from Signist's post a few numbers back:
"Nbase has the FASTEST and the most innovative networking solutions:
Our dual speed 10/100 Ethernet switch has become the industry's standard and the only one in the market to offer Gigabit Ethernet and ATM connectivity. Our fiber optic capabilities allow you to extend your Local Area Network beyond 100 km!"

This is copy from an MRVC ad that Signist was quoting/posting.

I believe they also make ATM connectivity modules, perhaps for OEM sales.
