What makes us better than others???? Our gun laws???? Our healthcare system?? Our schools? Our tolerance of others? How many countries have you visited? Our gun laws represent our right to defend ourselves against criminals and against a tyrannical government. That is definitely something that adds to the greatness of this country. Our healthcare system was once the greatest. But I expect it to become the worst now that Obama has his tentacles in it. Our schools could be make us great. All of the stats that say we are uneducated are skewed by immigrant populations and sub-cultures that don't value education. The fact that we have the largest economy in the world with the most successful companies shows that we either have the smartest or best educated people. What once set us apart and made us the greatest country was one word "opportunity". If you were willing to work hard and to work smart, you could break out of your station in life and earn enough to pass something to your kids. It is why our southern border has a never ending stream of immigrants, legal and illegal. It is why indians and asians come here. It is why Africans are still coming here in huge numbers, even with our history of slavery. They all know that their chances of succeeding in their home countries is much less likely than if they come here. Opportunity is what made the U.S. great.

How about inventing transistors and integrated circuits, inventing the cellular telephone, or any of a million other accomplishments that were possible only because of the existence of the United States? How about saving sub-Saharan Africa from AIDS? Oh. You meant AFTER Obama took office? That's a tough one.
