Why would ADSL be shortlived? Do you mean Ray Smith's "interim for the next 40 years?" Or something more along the lines of several years?

I can't imagine telcos bothering with an ADSL interim solution because of the cost.

Perhaps I have it wrong.

I have a friend planning to attend the InterNet show in NYC this week at the Jacob Javits Center. He'll grill GTE and others on their deployment plans.

As for SSPIF's multiple channels, yes, I'm guessing this is one apect of their relationship with TI. I also suspect there are others.
