In fact, it was Ford's decision that led the way for FLSA later on. Unions do one thing really, really well: they lock deserving people out of the competition for jobs. They manage sweet jobs for the powerful few at the expense of the many. If that's your idea of a good thing, then that would be consistent with the rest of your silly ideas.
