Got a problem George? Am I a thorn in your side? May I suggest hitting the "Next" button when you see my name? It will lower your blood pressure. As long as Christine continues to bash and criticize others with different beliefs, values and opinions I will continue to bash her if I disagree with her statements. If she desires peace and tranquility she should confine her conversations to tulip bulbs, flowers, cooking, house cleaning, laundry and the like. I promise you I will have no comments on those subjects. Once she opens her mouth about controversial issues she presents herself as a target and should be prepared to recieve fire from all directions. If you insist on trying to shield her, be my guest. "So, pal, it ain't to defend, but to empathize with the glorious hopes, bereft, quite frequently, of factual support, and the idealism of CGB that I (mark this word) forward these comments in disdain of your crassness." George, I really appreciate some of your comments, but don't really consider my idealism bereft of factual support. I don't write anything that is presented as factual without doing research, and I try to keep very clear the difference between that and my OPINIONS. Unfortunately, people like Jim Barrett apparently NEVER do any research, or back their outlandish statements with any facts at all, and that is what makes them seem ignorant. If Jim would just cite a url supporting his position that in the American South, no one considered slaves to be human beings, it would be refreshing, since he never seems to do much here except blow hot air. Since we have freedom of speech in this country, and on this thread, though, there is not much you can do with people who want to make an utter fools of themselves except to struggle to suffer them gladly, or something like that!!!
