AJ, its not so much your idiocy than your lack of reasoning that makes your post so pathetic.

Maybe you should do a little more investigating before you barge onto a thread and act like you know what you're talking about.

Just a suggestion.

Brian

AJ, I've scrutinized the materials on OPTi carefully - what was CREAF;s motive in subsuming them?

Sincerely,

Doug F.

"With PC Sales Flat going into this Xmas you can bet they won't do .77 this quarter."

AJ, Creative says that they are "comfortable with estimates". They haven't lied to us yet in their guidance on earnings estimates yet. In fact, there has been an earnings surprise every time of late.

AJ:

Can you elaborate your points regarding flat sales on PC in the current quarter.

I have quoted on thread #6652 with Dec 5 WSJ comment by CPQ, HWP and Packard BELL indicating strong PC sales both in US and particularly in Europe.

Best regards,

Stanley

AJ, thanks for your input. I can't say I agree with the SIII/Creative comparison though. Also a factor to consider is,if PC sales go flat this may result in more current owners wanting to update the systems that they own now, and this is CREATIVE's main market. You suggest that you doubt that Creative will not hit .77 this quarter, are you basing this on an assumption of flat or declining revenue from Q2 last year or do you feel that margins are going to be squeezed. If my calculations are correct Creative would need sales of approx. 415 million this quarter with net margins of 17.5% to obtain earnings of .77. I am interested in what sales figures and margins you are using to come to your conclusions. Also I would appreciate it if you or anyone else could suggest a good source where I can obtain PC historical sales and future sales projections.

As far as the Cambridge deal--that is fairly old news, CREAF has held a significant interest in that company for some time and the ultimate buyout was a given as soon as CREAF announced they were interested.

Creative also has a relationship with 3DFX at this time and will have a product out in Q3 that includes the Voodoo 2 graphics chip.

As far as the OPTI purchase-- I think Jon Tara covered this issue very well in one of his posts- take a look back and I am sure you will find it.

Best Wishes

Hitch
