Joe: Thanks for the full reply to my top-of-the-head idea. Let this be the last said about it. At the upcoming conference in Houston the following is being discussed:

<Offshore liquefaction, storage, transfer and, in some cases, vaporization of natural gas is a second technology being pioneered by energy companies to monetize stranded gas reserves. To overcome the large capital cost of onshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) complexes, many companies are investigating the manufacture of floating liquefaction, storage and transfer vessels-similar to floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs) used to recover oil. These vessels would be manufactured in specialized yards and transported to remote locations without the need for extensive onshore infrastructure. Also, they could be moved to new reserves as old ones are depleted so that capital costs would be spread over multiple gas fields.>

If they can do it for LNG it would appear it probably could be done for GTL.

I could find only one reference to RNTK at the conference web site
