Declare open season on killer whales..

The more seals and sea lions that Orcas (killer whales) eat, the better, as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad they're protected, at least in US waters, there's no reason to hunt and kill them..

..and sharks.

When I'm out fishing on charter boats down your way in NZ, I notice that small sharks (and barracudas) are routinely killed and tossed back overboard after they're reeled in as incidental catch. I don't like it, but I keep my mouth shut. Seems a waste.

As for Great Whites, if they munch on an occasional surfer or swimmer, well, you takes your chances..

Even deliberately hunted, it would not be possible to eliminate great white sharks which are spread around the world. Killer whales would be easier to eliminate as they have to breathe so are more easily spotted.

Why not find someone to run for office on a promise to get the Chinese trawlers, long liners, and seiners etc out of NZ waters. It is an outrage the NZ gov't didn't put conditions on the 60% fishing quota awarded to the Mauri which were subsequently sold to the Chinese just two years later. If NZ doesn't do something about this, Chinese fishing fleets will kill the commercial fishery, just like they did in the Caribbean waters around Trinidad.
