You really are one for the labels. I'm racially neutral on the effects of welfare. I think its effect is detrimental no matter who is receiving it. My"myth" is that it encourages generational poverty and I'd love to be statistically proven wrong about that. If you are averse to labels then find out what's really wrong. When there are not jobs and people get stuck, they get desperate. And then they turn to dishonest enterprises which usually includes drugs and gangs. Ever seen what drugs can do to a successful, six figure guy? I have and it ain't pretty. Now imagine what happens with people who have few skills, limited education and are on the bottom of the food chain. You are making up some legend about whites conspiring to destroy black families. You can't prove this. It just fits conveniently into your world view. The effect of job loss may have been to drive black families into poverty--again, but this wasn't some part of some master (race) plan. I never once made any reference to whites.. From where the hell did you get that? When the economy practices, as it is wont to do, its "creative destruction" both white and black people lose jobs. I am for social safety nets (unemployment insurance, social security), but welfare does encourage, IMHO, the raising of children in a culture that doesn't value work and thus perpetuates poverty. Then pay for their education so they have options......not just your moralizing.
