"the men who built America" so praise equals what? Many people praised Hitler, Stalin, Obama, Bush, Clinton, the Black Panthers...the lsit is near endless. what's your point? Burt Folsom praises Vanderbilt, a man used to using violence and bribes to get his way. He loved monopolies, as long as he was on the winning side.

Without having seen the program I can't intelligently comment on it. I do know that what I have posted about the "Robber Barons" and the problems cause by their great concentrations of wealth is a pretty standard historical explanation of the era along with the "trust busting" solution of TR and his followers. I don't deny that these people got things done. It was just too much of a good thing in my opinion. ( Economic Power corrupts--absolute economic power corrupts absolutely.)
