Page B7 of the east coast edition of the wsj has an article where compaq, hwp and nec all report strong holiday sales. Another article either in wsj or the ny times says survey shows most expect to pay about $1,800 for a pc, confounding expectations of sub-zero rule. I'm a short seller by nature but thinking of buying gtw on the open because everybody is short this puppy and a squeeze is possible. Also, having been a corporate lawyer for many years, Wells' speculation that they wrote off the kitchen sink, delayed sales, etc. to ensure a bang-up fourth quarter is certainly possible. Also, I read somewhere that gtw said last weekend's (not the one just ened) were very strong. I don't think even these guys would say that if not true. Plus no warning on earnings yet. Lastly, can anyone confirm that UPS etc. were backed up at gtw's plant or was that just bull's hype?

rf, that's not a bad system. too bad gtw doesn't make much money from it and it is in the size of the market where sales growth is nil.

even so, i agree with you. nice system. does the msft bundl include office? tia...

Ah, more anecdotal evidence, Rframe you're a Peter Lynch person at heart.

I have a hunch the "anecdotals" may help GTW's 4th. quarter sales even more than Mr. Bug plans on. ;-)
