Thanks for highlighting this tool. I am a regular reader of Gurufocus, but only have the free membership so cannot access the screening tools - they are only available with the premium membership. I've been thinking for a while of paying for the premium membership though? Is it worth it in your view?

I also like to look at a full 10 years of financials when getting to know and understand a business that may be a prospective investment. To date I have manually collated the information from 10-Ks on the company websites and input the data into a spreadsheet that I have built up over time that calculates the various ratios and metrics that I look for and consider. Very time consuming but I take comfort from the fact that I am working from primary sources only, am doing my own homework in the truest sense and get a real in-depth feel for the business from going through all the numbers and calculating metrics myself, rather than relying on data and ratios pulled together by someone else. This is particularly important when considering the variations that exist for return on capital ratios, and what some people consider to be exceptional items in the P&L that others might not.
