Off Topic.

Hi Sal:

Apple has made so many business mistakes, it's a wonder the company is still around.

However, they have always made the coolest products, and I hope they are able to survive, so that some of this innovation makes it into the PC market.

We just bought a PowerMac 604e 350MHz and it screams. Even Virtual PC (Connectix' Windows 95 emulator) delivers very good results.

I wrote a simple CPU test to compare the performance of their emulation in a DOS Window and ran the same test on my Pentium 166. The Macintosh in EMULATION mode performed the test TWICE as fast as my Pentium in native CPU mode.

No doubt this machine is much faster than the fastest Pentium II. But what I like most about Apple is its overall design techniques. Apple design is much better than anything I can find in the PC market. I am convinced that if Apple started selling Windows 95/98/NT machines, they would grab 5 percent marketshare within 18 months and 10 percent within 36 months. Of course, this won't happen because Apple is too arrogant when it comes to MacOS vs Windows.
