<I wrote a simple CPU test to compare the performance of their emulation in a DOS Window and ran the same test on my Pentium 166. The Macintosh in EMULATION mode performed the test TWICE as fast as my Pentium in native CPU mode. No doubt this machine is much faster than the fastest Pentium II.> Don't you think the 300 mz PII can exhibit the same if not superior performance?

Doug, I'm going to have to disagree with your statements about AAPL's innovation. I think that's past history....What have they done within the last few years that lives up to their illustrious reputation of innovation? AAPL computer are "designed" better than PCs, because AAPL is much more free to make changes. With PCs being standardized and hampered by legacy nightmares, I'd say they're still doing a fairly good job. About the performance issues....Are you sure about those results? They seem kinda hard to believe. Sal PS. Why do they even bother calling it a "disappointment" anymore? news.com
