My information is firsthand, not off of any blogs. The first time I heard of inflation was a complaint by my mother on her fixed income. Then I started watching things, and sure enough the evidence of inflation is all around us. In my own budget, I've experienced 10% inflation annualized over the last 2 years. Here's something interesting, though, if you prefer more statistical analysis, instead of my anecdotes. The Billion Prices Index for Annual Inflation is running at something like 2.8% vs the CPI figures of 1.3%. That's a big difference for policy making decisions. And if inflation is running at 2.8% and income is stagnating or declining for the average consumer, then you have a big hit to the average American's standard of living over time. Anyway, we're experiencing stagflation for the 99% and decent wealth growth for the 1%. I know my wealth has increased by a large amount since 2008, but I can't say the same thing for the rest of Americans...and it doesn't have to be that way.
