Not a bad idea, but probably a political non-starter for now, and even a lower non-zero rate would still be beneficial.

As far as I can see, the corporate income tax is there for one reason only: as a free-floating punisher.
The reason that the corporate tax exists is that too many people are stupid enough to believe that corporate taxes are free money with no negative consequences.

If the govt taxes me directly, I can identify the politicians who voted for the tax increase and try to end their political careers. If someone is unemployed due to higher corporate taxes or other govt policies like Obamacare, they may not make the connection and assign blame to the politicians where it belongs. The reason for corporate tax is a combination of political cowardice and stupidity.
