Re: Currentness of OXHP claims payments

To All:

Do we have practicioning physicians and/or medical providers here that can confirm OXHPs claim that payments to providers *are* indeed current now?

Thomas

Oxford Health membership plan doubted-WSJ

NEW YORK, Dec 8 (Reuters) - The goal of Oxford Health Plans Inc to add more than 500,000 members over the next year has run into
resistance among employers, benefits consultants and insurance brokers, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Corporate benefit consultants, for example, are questioning how much growth the health maintenance organization can achieve, it said.
And some Wall Street analysts are beginning to think that Oxford may be too optimistic about its growth rate.

Last month, the company's chairman, Steve Wiggins, told investors that he expected to increase enrollment by 578,000 members next
year.

The company's efforts to add to its membership are part of a turnaround effort following an unexpected third quarter loss.

I hope they know what they doing, long on OXHP...

Mike: I agree with you on the very long term on this one. The 20% membership growth you cite is naturally what is coming in the front door. Once those slipping out the back door cease, then I believe some stability will arrive.
I still believe that it is quite a dangerous game to be playing here when one increases positions (even at 20) with no further concrete information on the audit and NY's opinion of it.
