I should put Levin's book on my list, although I'm not reading any politics or history right now as I'm busy with technical stuff. I have never seen the country so divided, at least since the 60s. It seems like Bush v. Gore it has just gotten worse, and it has really deteriorated rapidly over the last five years. I'm not convinced any substantial legislation can be passed legitimately right now. I think term limits would be a really good thing as well as a balanced budget; but I don't see how a balanced budget can be done even if the will were there to do it. The last five years we've put so many people on the public dole that it is going to take a long time to unwind it.
