Wasn't advocating for religious charities by that reference Actually I'm a pretty well confirmed atheist ..but the well known humanist ethic regarding caring for the poor as embodied in Christian philosophy and teaching strikes me as a decent model for dealing with those so situated Especially in a country as wealthy as this one Problem is that since 10% of the population own 90% of that wealth, and control the 2 or 3 of the 3 branches of government, it is hard to formulate policy that recognizes that some folks will flounder in a dog eat dog world....
