..but there seems to be a sufficient body of evidence relative to various folk cures that it would simply make economic sense to validate them if apropriate, or remove the fantasy

The cost benefit is societal so it must be initiated at that level

..but if marijuana could cure cancer

..or coconut oil and curcumin arrest Azheimers

..or Niacin could replace Statin therapy

..D3 could cure Rheumatoid Arthritis

..there is no pharmaceutical company that would spend a cent to find those things out

In fact they would (and have) hire armies of opinion influencers to poo-poo any potential disclosures

..but if one could cure or treat their maladies, such as cancer, with an inexpensive substance like marijuana, it will have to be the government that would make that case

But the shame is that the forces who sell us cures to heal us, are at once depriving us of access to those potential cures that would cost them profits
