Because of the way I choose trades, I'm not a fan of strangles. I prefer to sell calls on overbought stocks, and sell puts when oversold, and those conditions by definition are mutually exclusive. Even legging in doesn't work for me, since by the time an existing position has moved to the other extreme, it's often a candidate for closing (see the earlier 'when to close' discussion).
