That was not at all what happened, though. There is a market for solar panels, but the Chinese want to corner that market like they have done with rare earth elements.

So it is not at all analogous.

Unfortunately, when private enterprise invests taxpayer dollars, it creates a perverse incentive to invest in projects that cannot trigger growth because they don't make economic sense.
USDA subsidies for farms in Arkansas totaled $10,817,000,000 from 1995 through 2012.

Farms produce green products...
