That would be one hell of an interesting study.

As I recall, our admissions folk told us that high school GPA scores were better predictor of college performance than SAT scores. Enough so that they entertained the notion of no longer paying attention to SAT scores. Don't recall what they did about it.

In particular I'd like to see how the top 5% of HS GPA's do later in life, and what impact early age graduation from HS has on later life.

As for your overall study proposal, I would be surprised if there aren't studies that, in effect, address the first part of your question. It's a fairly obvious one and the data, at least at a survey level, shouldn't be that hard to put together. You might have to study it with self reported GPA numbers--I'm not certain the actual ones are publicly available.

As for the second question, I would be surprised if there are studies. Should be doable though. Again, one would want to get a large enough sample size to be able to control for the appropriate variables.

I think we know little about the mind except it can be very developed and most people live life way below their potential.

The only secret to unleashing all that talent is pervasive, free educational centers. We should have an abundance of pre schools and community colleges.

What the key is igniting, the critical stage of intellectual development.

The Jews are the best example of this. They are driven to hate college by their families and social expectations, but once they get educated they lives their lives accordingly.

Forget about all the fancy testing and everything else and just get them in the classroom and learning.
