Our road to financial ruin was a bipartisan effort. Bush failed to veto spending and by doing so did huge damage to our brand. IMO Pelosi held funding for the war in Iraq captive to huge increases in domestic sending. Bush did not call her bluff - or simply wanted to be seen as "caring".

Now there are some who truly want to be fiscally responsible. Some are true crusaders - some are Johnny-come-latelies.

Political spending is a disease. Much of it is simply a bribe for votes with no concern for long term implications.

I ask you to consider what the budget would be if the House remained under the control of Pelosi.
