Actually there is room in the budget......all we have to do is get taxation levels back to where they were under Reagan.

Give me the source of that please.

The point I want to make though is that it is unrealistic to expect any legislated increase in entitlements given the built in the projected increases, percentage wise, as part of the overall budget.

The Left is going to have to come to terms with how to restructure entitlement spending to put it on stable ground, and the Right is going to have to come to terms with some change in tax policy to meet projected budget deficits. Republicans are correct to suggest spending is a problem, because it is, but that is only part of the equation--tax reform and entitlement restructuring are the other parts.
