'The reason we don't attack him'

As complaints about President Obama go, this one, via Morgan Whitaker, is a doozy.

Conservative writer and occasional conspiracy theorist David Horowitz joined high-profile Republicans like Gov. Bobby Jindal and Sen. Marco Rubio at the Koch Brother-sponsored “Defending the American Dream Summit,” in Florida last Friday. While his fellow speakers were busy blasting the president, Horowitz claimed that Obama doesn’t get attacked enough as The Washington Post first reported.

"The reason we don't attack him is obvious, but no one will say it out loud. I will: It's because the color of his skin is black -- actually he's half black," Horowitz told the crowd. "It is because Obama is a minority that nobody will hold him to a standard or confront him with what he has done."

Hmm.

First, I like to think I follow President Obama pretty closely, but I'll confess it simply never occurred to me think, "You know, I wish I knew why the right doesn't attack him."

Thank goodness we have David Horowitz around to resolve this lingering mystery. President Obama has been shielded from criticism for the last several years because he's "a minority," which means "nobody will hold him to a standard or confront him with what he has done."

And if there's one thing minorities can count on in the United States, especially President Obama, it's the luxury of knowing everyone will resist the urge to hold them accountable for anything.

Second, let's also note that Horowitz, this fount of wisdom on racial issues, was invited to speak at a Republican National Committee event in April. Why? Because officials believed he could help the party "broaden the GOP's appeal with voters."

Yep, the guy who thinks "we don't attack" Obama because he's black was the RNC's go-to guy on broadening the party's appeal.

Did I mention he's written books with titles like "Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes" and "The Race Card: White Guilt, Black Resentment, and the Assault on Truth and Justice"?

It is a horrible assumption. Had France not played paper tiger for Hitler, there would never have been world war in the 1930's. This is a very dangerous ploy.

I can't stress enough how much Obama needs to formulate a clear and comprehensive policy to inform the World about where America stands, for his own good as well as the rest of us. At this point he is being accused of everything from being an Al-Qaeda Operative to Bumbleclot... in fact, some people are accusing him of being both, and it could get much worse.

We threaten dire consequences, then follow up with hints? That is our foriegn policy?

>> but assuming Assad "gets the hint,"

Assad is going to sit back and let those few bombs do what they're going to do.

Then, he's going to go out and use chemicals against his people again to make it clear that the US cannot push him around and to tell the world that he's not a chicken in standing up to Obama.

This is not going end well for the US.

Probably. Like I said, there just aren't any good options. But, the use of chemical weapons needs to be discouraged. I mean even Hitler thought they were too heinous to use. Think about that one for a while...
