>Would it be possible for 2 people to play the same stock, one long, one short?<

Ohhh yes and its fun :->. Like this week we have both sides of AMAT.
One can also pick the same stock in a different buying session.

>This is still the APM thread, right?<

Absolutely.

>Does anyone else feel a short squeeze coming?<

I personally do not see that happening soon.

Take care.

Crissman Speaks!! Has Hell finally frozen over?!!

Applied Magnetics Corp. (APM) 15 +1/16: supplier of magnetic recording heads and of head stack assemblies for disk-drives sees 1Q revenues declining by 30% on a sequential basis due to lower orders from its largest customer; company also plans to take an $8 mln pre-tax charge in the quarter; according to one estimate from First Call, company projected to earn $0.41 a share; notes that Q2 revenues could rebound up to 20% over Q1.....

Doesn't sound good, but I assume everyone knew it was coming. I don't even know how it compares to estimates anymore. Isn't it kind of interesting that he never opened his mouth when he might have been able to control some of the damage? Or when things were going well?

Brian, no one feels the short squeeze coming except perhaps the shorts that feel squeezed and crowded among all of their company. This one still has a ways to go...the 30% down revenue news shouldl really send it to the pits.....then, it may be a good long term buy and hold or at least good for the proverbial dead cat bounce if one doesn't mind getting cut by trying to catch the falling knife. IMO, no squeeze so long as the entire sector stinks. Just big, fat, happy, rich, shorts.
