The federal income tax can do the trick.

Apparently 43 other states don't agree.

Well maybe we need to start giving back exactly the amount of taxes states contribute to the Feds. This business of some states supporting those states that don't generate enough income on their own is unreasonable given the current political climate.

I personally think WA having no income tax is great. Maybe that's why everyone is living so nice there, because they actually get to keep what they earn.

There is no free ride. Our taxes are higher in other areas......for an example, I pay higher property taxes then if I had the equivalent property in CA.......and the sales tax rate for King County is 9%.

I don't mind paying taxes if I feel like I am getting back a level of service commensurate with the amount of taxes I am paying. I feel that's true of WA state.

Furthermore, I'm all for higher property taxes, since that's the closest you'll ever get to a "wealth tax" in this nation. I hear WA state also has substantial property taxes.

That's right.

Ain't life great when you actually live in a state that taxes conservatively?

How is paying lots of taxes being conservative?
