I guess you're talking about the NetWare 3.2 Enhancement Pack announced today. Customers running NetWare 3.12 do not have to buy this pack to make sure their servers are Y2K compliant. The Y2K patches are freely downloadable from Novell's web site.

The pack includes the Y2K patches, the latest general patches for NW 3.12, Netscape Navigator, a new Windows app for managing 3.x servers and users, the latest (Y2K compliant) NetWare client software, and a free two-user copy of IntranetWare.

The $349 per server price of the enhancement pack will probably cover the licensing fees for Netscape Navigator and not much else.

This is only applicable to 3.12 users. Anyone still on 3.11 or earlier doesn't get the goodies, and will have to upgrade to NW 3.2, 4.11, or 5.0 in order to be functional in 2000.
