Hopefully because of this, TRMB is on the prowl for strategic acquisitions at prices on the order of 1:1 price to sales.

I think this move is attributable to:

A couple of stories were published this morning on professional networks. (Dont know the story)
Momentum players seeing the breakout are coming in;
Timing is looming larger as a big potentiel market.

I don't see Trimble getting bought out.

They may try to acquire one of the weaker timing companies to
supplement the GPS-only design, though this would place them
squarely in competition with HP.

They may acquire Garmin (especially if they can get that .36:1
ratio mentioned for Lowrance.. but who needs fish-finders?) but
I don't think Garmin has anything for them but low-cost manufacturing
expertise.
