Zenith will earn a royalty (est., about $3 to $10 per "box") on
every HDTV, SDTV, STB and computer capable of receiving Zenith's
patented VSBi transmissions.

Bob, I would appreciate with us if you could share the source
of this info. I am asking this because I have see no mention
of any royalty or the amount anywhere in ZE website or their
press releases. Hence I am curious as to how/where you obtained the
$3-$10 estimate.

Also what is the basis of your estimates of the number of "boxes"
with ZE VSBi transmissions?

My opinions on some other issues discussed in this forum:

- I disagree with Rich lack of exposure may be good for ZE.
First of all the primary aim of marketing is not to raise
the stock price but to raise brand awareness among the potential
customers. It will certainly boost ZE's beaten down credibility
if ZE publicizes these new cable and other deals and its pioneering
role in digital transmission. ZE cannot live on royalties alone.

- People have expressed concern that LGE might try to acquire
the rest of ZE stock for a low price. I feel that is not very
likely as that will be very unpopular and LGE's reputation might
be hurt and it might attract lawsuits. I fear LGE would try (and
may already be doing) something less visible. Fill the ZE board
with its cronies and use ZE to its advantage. Thus I am more
worried about LGE extracting a lot out of ZE and giving little
in return. This can be done through lopsided deals and agreements.
I strongly feel we should be more vigilant about this and for
that we need more info from ZE.

Regards,
Kalyan, long on ZE but concerned about many things
