Kaylan, Good questions. I share some of your concerns.

At the Annual Meeting in Glenmount, shareholders were given the opportunity to ask two questions to Pete Willmott and the other members of the Management Committee. I asked six. One of the questions was, "Will Zenith receive royalties on every TV capable of receiving HDTV?" Answer."Yes." Then I asked how much of a royalty would be charged. Answer. "We don't know, We're working on it." After the meeting, I met with a Zenith senior engineer who confirmed the $3 to $10 range as realistic options.

This should be the start of a new golden era at Zenith brimming with excitement and enthusiasm. However, there are too many dour faces still walking the halls in Glenmount, worried about their next paycheck. "We're losing, losing money" they mutter with heads pointed down.

Marketing certainly needs more support from its Public Affairs and Communications Department. Sprint and many other buyers are very impressed with Zenith's network products but there is not enough energy and drive within ZE to close enough sales.

I call it a "crises of confidence" within Zenith and the first step in its correction is the selection/election of a new world-class ceo who immediately will command the respect and confidence of all (employees, dealers and consumers) through his/her high energy, vision and driving focus to put Zenith back on top.

With Pete Willmott at the helm, I have confidence that all transactions between Zenith and LGE have been fair to both parties. This is definitely an area requiring effective shareholder/board of directors oversight but of a much lesser priority, today, than Zenith selecting a new ceo prior to the International CES on January 8.
