Boy, can you inflate a simple snippet out of proportion! Re-read what I wrote:

"Huge gain in polar ice cap............maybe this will help energy prices?"

That's it. Not a word more. I offered no assessments of the article'scontent. I didn't predict a long term change. I didn't agree or disagree with the article. The fact is the polar ice is much bigger this year. Will it be even bigger next year? Don't know. Might that help energy prices?

And, yes, I'm well aware that the chart shows a long term trend headed lower. Perhaps, you thought I was stupid and believed our climate change reversals occur on a dime and that I needed your assistance in grasping the obvious.

Relax. I may have been born at night but, it wasn't last night.

"I personally believe that anthropogenic climate change is real, which is why I am in favor of nuclear power and fracking (because natural gas displaces coal). "

Kudos for at least believing in the only solutions that would work if the problem is real. It is very hard to believe that many of the alarmists give a damn about the issue when they actively oppose the only credible solutions. They make me think the alarm is simply a tool for some other agenda.

Really?
Your "here's the full picture" is to put up a chart with the range 1978 to 2012?!!!
Polar ice has been advancing and retreating for the better part of 3 billion years.
Your "full picture" represents 0.0000000113 percent of the actual full picture.

You are aware that much greater forces than puny humankind are acting upon our little blue planet, no?
Here's one for you - the Martian ice caps advance and retreat as well. What influence do humans have on it?

This is all BDBBR pollution. Now I need to go and plant a virtual tree to offset this ridiculous post.
