I'm just yanking some chains on this thread, Z. Posing as the anti-i-node! But, Obama did mention in the speech that he hasn't started any wars, has wrapped up one and is closing down the other.

I got an interesting item in the mail from my city government (Salt Lake City). It was a ballot with a single question, "Do you believe corporations should be stripped of their rights as "people"?" I voted YAY, of course.

I think my city and perhaps my state is going to try to amend the constitution and over-rule the Supreme Court. Which will only work if this is happening in all other states. Anyone heard anything like this?

It seems to me that this proposition might just be broadly popular enough to work, for the first time ever, in amending the constitution in this way. I don't know ONE person that believes corporations should have the rights of human citizens.

en.wikipedia.org

" Article Five of the United States Constitution describes the process whereby the Constitution may be altered. Such amendments may be proposed by the United States Congress or by a national convention assembled at the request of the legislatures of at least two-thirds of the states. The method of proposal by national convention has been attempted twice, but never succeeded. "

Looks like it's part of this movement:
