Too bad I am so far back. The huge takeover premium in MAKO not enough to get me past 3rd or 4th even adjusting starting prices to Dec 31. Anyone else in MAKO? Too bad I sold.

9/27/13 Contest Update
To be, or not to be? My question, of course, refers to the looming federal government shutdown. And on Wall Street, by weeks end, most traders seemed to be taking the “to be” answer more seriously.
However, in our Contest wonderland, the party-poopers continued to be ignored (or some one is messing with my spreadsheets). And at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up a phenomenal 65.71% YTD (vs. up 59.06% YTD a week ago). In contrast, the broad indexes finished the week pretty much where they started. The Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 53.88% YTD (vs. up 53.34% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 25.24% YTD (vs. up 25.01% YTD a week ago).
RKRW’s portfolio had another terrific week, closing with an amazing 159.81% YTD gain. But, second place BLADE’s portfolio had an even better week and is well within striking distance with a phenomenal 154.69% YTD gain. Meanwhile, MCBIO’s portfolio, up 117.84% YTD, moved up to third place.
At Friday's close, 38 of the 39 Contest portfolios were in the black with 24 of the 39 beating the NBI.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week.
Portfolio adjustments: None
Have a safe & fun weekend biotechies!
(All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.)
Peace & good health,
Bulba
