I have maintained forever that Medicare and Medicaid should be privatized and that that would eliminate most of the problems with our health care system, and most notably, bring costs down radically.

Were Medicare privatized, it might be possible to do develop it into some kind of universal care program over time; the the first order of business, though, is to get control of costs through privatization (I was glad to hear Buffett come around to my way of thinking last week, with the recognition that Obamacare must be repealed).
