In Firefox, I have about 20 bookmarks located in the bookmark toolbar that runs horizontal just below the http address bar.

Make sure it's there:
View:

Bookmarks Toolbar
make sure it has a check beside it

I use drag and drop to add bookmarks to it

To do that, see the 1/4" circle (earth?) to the immediate left of the www.address in the address bar?

Click on it and while holding it down, drag it to the Bookmark Toolbar and release the click.

You can right click on the new bookmark and edit it or delete it. I rename mine to something short, since the name will take up a lot of space.

In Yahoo, I have the addresses of my portfolios as bookmarks on the Bookmark Toolbar. I can run through a lot of quotes quickly and with one click each time.

I rarely click on Bookmarks at the top anymore. I basically have a top 20 bookmarks on that toolbar.

This looks like it can explain it a lot better than I can and also includes pictures!
