Alan,

Many companies do offer FRADS and FSCX is probably one of the smallest. Financially FSCX has not had a great year. They need to prove they can be profitable before the market will give them any serious attention.

I'm not a techie either (and I would appreciated anyone who is to tell me if my thinking is wrong) , but from reading the links you posted (and a few others), it seams that FSCX's FRADs and CSCO's FRAD are geared at different markets. CSCO's are more expensive and can be upgraded to full routers. FSCX's are geared more to specific applications.

With regards to the GTE / CSCO relationship, it is Internet Protocol related and not FRAD.

"Dallas, TX and San Jose, CA, May 6, 1997 -- GTE and Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced a relationship that will build an end-to-end service network which will enable GTE to rapidly deploy value-added services and drive next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) offerings. This relationship will quickly create differentiated services for GTE customers while enabling GTE to reduce time to market, lower cost of ownership and simplify network management."
