It was coincidental that someone asked the Doctor (his handle is the "OEX Doctor") questions on option pricing and it seemed to answer part of an earlier question...one on manipulating premium in options.

So I thought I would pass his response on for whatever it may be worth. They were not my words, he is a CBOE member.

Nemer; RE:" Dynammics of Chien Rouge's Support/Resistance Levels"

BTW, very much enjoyed reading your posting yesterday about what an old-time broadcast of a horse race would be like. (^_^) With all the eye candy on the WWWeb, we forget what wonderful images can be conjured up in one's own mind's eye. Thanks.

I was curous about what happens to Red Dog's support levels once they are broken, ie., do they then become resistance ?

For example, today's numbers are...

/478 /477 /474 >(472.49)< 471/ 470/ 466/

...and as I write this, the OEX is at 469. Would we assume, then, that 471/ and 470/ supports now represent /471 /470 resistance ?

Along the same lines of thought, another question is this: are Red Dog's resistance and support levels re-calculated throughout the trading session, since the neural net is plugged in to a realtime quote server - or are the OEX calculations performed like a "batch job", generating one set of numbers after digesting each session's meal of data ?
