That's total bullshit. Most industrialized countries have had something more "socialized" than we have for three generations, and none that I know of has had it longer than that. So there are no examples of anything "catching up and truly imploding" a generation or two after that. Unless you make it up.

yeah, that whole soviet union (USSR) thing never happened.....

You are missing the big picture. It could happen if just the right set of circumstances happen. Therefore, under the one percent doctrine, you must treat it as inevitable and bend the resources of the entire nation to address it as such...

Unless, of course, it involves anything the Left is interested in. Then you have to be 200% certain and it can't cost anything...

DNC Chief Wasserman Schultz Says She Won’t Give Up Her Pay During Shutdown…

Because shutdowns are for the little people.

Via TPM:

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Thursday that she won’t be joining her congressional colleagues who have said they will decline their pay during the government shutdown.

The Florida congressman was somewhat evasive when MSNBC’s Chuck Todd first asked about her salary.

“Because I support everybody who works for the federal government getting a salary, I continue to support reopening the government, making sure that everybody who is doing a job in the federal government can earn their salary and so that’s my position,” Wasserman Schultz said.

When Todd asked a follow-up, Wasserman Schultz gave a definitive answer.

“Yes, I’m gonna continue to take my salary,” she said.
