I don't think you are paying attention.

In democracies, the people decide what sort of social programs they want. And every country is different.

And if democracy decides it wants a big government, then majority rules.

Tim,

A key point is that we do NOT have a democracy in America. We have a constitutional republic. In our land a majority does not rule. I am protected from a president I consider an idiot and koan is protected from a president who some day he will consider an idiot.

The whole concept of majority rules is pure BS. We came close to that in the first two years of the reign of the Imperial Obama - was that not ugly?

Our nation is deep crap as fools like Obama keep buying votes through dependency. Eventually purchased power will erode our protections via stacking the SC.

I fear only a financial earth quake will change the course to ruin we are on.
